Security Guard – First Aid not included
In order to write your Provincial Exam and apply for your Ontario Security Guard License, students must complete the 40hr Course which is divided between 33.5hrs of online study and a 1-day in-class Emergency Level First Aid & CPR Level C Certificate.
To become a great security guard that excels at their job, start with a solid foundation. Other security guard courses will teach you the bare minimum but our training course will prepare you for your first job and give you confidence. When companies hire a security guard they expect them to be fully trained and able to handle a variety of situations. An inadequately trained security guard may endanger themselves, but can also compromise the health and safety of those around them.

Private Investigator
This specialized 50hr online course meets and exceeds the syllabus requirements of the Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor General. It is delivered 100% online and has been updated recently to reflect any changes in relevant legislation. Upon sign up, our Private Investigator students receive a comprehensive practice test to complete at their own pace to further prepare them for the provincial exam.
As a private investigator in Ontario you will have to deal with challenging situations and will require proficient training to be able to handle them. We offer a comprehensive private investigator program that is aligned with the Ontario Ministry’s 50hr syllabus and meets Ministry requirements. Our curriculum will also give you all the practical tools and training you need to be successful.

Dual Package: Security Guard + Private Investigator
This course package includes both the online Security Guard Course and Private Investigator Course and meets the Ministry requirements for both. Once completed, the Student will be eligible to write both exams and apply for their Dual License. Emergency Level First Aid (which is a requirement of the Security Guard Course) is included if the student can attend a class listed here. For those who cannot attend one of these First Aid classes, the student must attain Emergency Level First Aid and CPR locally.

Emergency First Aid & CPR Training Level C + AED
A hands on, interactive course teaching simple First Aid & CPR techniques for individuals who want an overview of First Aid & CPR for the workplace or home. Learn how to recognize, prevent and respond to cardiovascular emergencies for adults, choking, airway and breathing emergencies, and prevention of disease transmission. Participants will also learn how (and become certified) to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

Online Use of Force and Handcuffing Training
SGC is pleased to provide an online Use of Force and Handcuffing Certification Course.
This course was developed by a Subject Matter Expert and former Instructor Trainer for the Ontario Police College. Subjects include Criminal and Trespass arrest, detailed use of force authority explanations, judgement and decision making (crisis intervention) and incident articulation.
There is also a full explanation of the new Criminal Code sections on the use of force for protection of people and property.

MLEO – Parking Bylaw Enforcement Officer Course
Are you a Security Guard wanting to issue private property parking tickets in Ontario? This online course prepares you to enforce parking bylaws legally and safely.
Once you have completed the assignments and the online quizzes successfully, your Certificate will be mailed to you. The average student completes this online course in 20 hours or less.

Online Loss Prevention Training
This Retail Loss Prevention Course was developed by a Security Training Subject Matter Expert in consultation with industry and legal experts.
This course is designed for loss prevention officers and security guards to ensure their clients such as retail companies and their employees reduce retail theft and shoplifting while improving workplace safety.
The course contains instructional videos, downloadable materials in pdf format, instructional powerpoints/digital documents and available live, one on one, instructor support.
A Certificate of Completion, suitable for framing, is awarded when the online final exam is passed.

Code White Training
Violence Prevention and Conflict Avoidance in Healthcare
In general, Code White policies assist hospital and healthcare staff interact with an actual or potential violent or out of control person.
This course is only applicable to Ontario and is strongly suggested for any private security guards who wish to work as hospital security or other healthcare facilities.

Recertification in Use of Force/Passive Handcuffing
- In partnership with our Instructor Burgess & Associates, we wrapped up filming of up to date video clips for a refreshed online Use of Force/Passive Handcuffing Course in late 2021.
- Just last week we launched a Recertification course for $99.00. Most UoF Certificates expire after 1 year. We now have an online and less expensive option for customers to recertify.
